Cocaine Distribution Charge in Trenton New Jersey

Since all cocaine distribution charges are indictable in nature, your case with be directed to the county courthouse in Trenton for resolution. Manufacturing, selling, distributing or possessing cocaine with intent to distribute is either a first, second or third degree crime under N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5. If the quantity being sold is less than a half ounce then the offense is a third degree crime. If you sell at least a half ounce but less than five ounces, the violation is a second degree crime. Distributing five ounces or more is a first degree crime. The table below outlines the penalties that apply for each grade of cocaine distribution.

Mandatory Driver’s License Suspension. Every individual sentenced for a drug possession or distribution offense is subject to a 6-24 month driver’s license suspension.

Diversion Programs of Pretrial Intervention & Drug Court. An individual can avoid prosecution for distributing cocaine or possession with intent to distribute cocaine by obtaining admission into the Pretrial Intervention Program or Drug Court. There are strict guidelines for securing this relief.
