Before 2007, the town was known as Washington Township, and was originally formed from portions of East Windsor Township. Next, merge onto I 287 S, and continue for about 15.2 miles. Stay left to take I 287 S toward Perth Amboy. Then, take Exit 9, the River Rd exit toward Bound Brook/Highland Park. In 0.2 miles, merge onto River Rd. In 3.4 miles, merge onto NJ 18 S. Next, take the NJ Turnpike ramp. Take the ramp toward Trenton and South. Then, merge onto NJ Turnpike S. Continue for about 22.5 miles, and then take Exit 7A and merge onto I 195 W toward Trenton. After 2.1 miles, take Exit 5B and merge onto US 130 N toward New Brunswick. In 1.2 miles, you will see the courthouse.

From the South: Begin heading northeast on Bellevue Ave./NJ 54 toward Central Ave. Make a slight right to stay on NJ 54. Next, you will see that NJ 54/Bellevue Ave. becomes US 206 N, and you will pass through one roundabout. You will continue on US 206 N for about 36.3 miles. After this, you will stay straight to get onto US 130 N, and continue on that roadway for about 6 miles. Then you will see the courthouse.
